From Our Principal

Dear Families,

I love this time of the term where we can reflect on all the wonderful opportunities our students have experienced. As mentioned previously, I am incredibly proud of our students' NAPLAN results, where as a school, we performed above state and Diocesan results. Our staff are very committed to all our Lourdes Learners, going above and beyond.

Some highlights of the term include:

  • Interschool sport for Years 5 and 6
  • Pyjama Day
  • Catholic Education Week – Grandparents’ Day
  • Catholic Schools’ netball and touch football carnivals
  • Musician visit – Michael Mangan
  • Book Week
  • Swimming lessons
  • Father’s Day stall and Mass
  • Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Loving the Arts @ Lourdes
  • Touch football gala day for Year 4
  • Celebrating the Early Years Day
  • Student retreats
  • Excursions

Holiday Office Hours

The office hours during the holiday period are 9.00am – 2.30pm Monday to Friday.

Term 4

Term 4 begins on Tuesday October 7, following the Kings Birthday public holiday.

Celebrating the New Oval Space

We are having a colour run to celebrate the opening of our extended oval on October 10th - the first Friday of next term. Children will need a white t-shirt for this event. Further information will be sent home at the beginning of Term 4.

Tennis Court Update

With thanks to the P&F, the tennis court repairs will be finalised over the holidays. The internal surface has been repaired, and the fencing will be completed during the break.

Leave During Term 4

Our Lady of Lourdes was started by the Ursuline Order in 1952. I have been invited by the Ursuline sisters, to join a pilgrimage in Italy next term. I will be joining Principals and leaders from Ursuline schools across the world, walking in the footsteps of Angela Merici. I will be absent from October 13 for 3 weeks. During this time, Ms Miranda Murray will deputise. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to bringing my learnings back to Lourdes.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday break with your children and look forward to seeing everyone return at the start of Term 4.
